I hold a Ph.D. in history, and a MA in history (major) and study of religions (minor). My primary research area is ancient history and culture – especially Roman history as well as the history of religions and of mentalities in the Greek and Roman period. I have also written about the Crusades and the history of political ideas. Additionally, I am a co-editor of the website Center for historieformidling, which aims, among other things, to collect and translate historical sources [link].

For several years, I have worked as a part time lecturer at the University of Copenhagen, as a teacher in the upper secondary school and the higher preparatory examination at adult education centres, as well as a lecturer at teacher training colleges.

For several years, I have participated in public debates and was a co-editor of the journal NOMOS (2003-2010). My particular interest has been the history of Danish of culture and identity as well as the continuous debate about the use and misuse of history.
